📐 Setting Up Custom Components (for SC-Area Products)
The Custom Component Setup for SC-Area allows you to define various finishing processes for large-format products — such as lamination, eyelets, cutting, or mounting accessories.
This setup provides flexibility to calculate costs by square foot, piece, or perimeter length, depending on the finishing type.
🧭 Navigating to Custom Component Setup
- Go to Component dashboard
-
Add a new category
- Click the category you created
View [a]: Enter the category
Edit [b]: Edit the category name and description
Delete [c]: remove unused category.

🧱 Create a Custom Component (SC-Area)
Step-by-Step
- select “SC-Area”
-
Put a unique code (up to 8 units)
-
Enter the component name. i.e. “Lamination”, “Eyelet”, “Finishing”
-
Add a short note that helps you quickly identify what this component does.
💡 Example: “Large Format Lamination”, “Bunting pole setup” -
Choose how the system should calculate the finishing cost:
-
– By Absolute: Calculates the finsihing cost per piece, multiplying the total print quantity by a per-piece rate. (print quantity x print cost per absolute)
- – By SQFT: Calculates the finsihing cost per SQFT, multiplying the total print area size by a per-sqft rate. (total print area size x print cost per sqft)
– Wastage: Cost per sqft of waste material (💡 Tips: You can use the same rate as Per SQFT.) -
– By Perimeter [?]: Calculates the finsihing cost per Eyelet or length of perimeter, multiplying the total print quantity by a per-length rate. (print size x cost per eyelet or length of perimeter)
💡 Tips: Use “By SQFT” for lamination or surface finishing, “By Absolute” for cutting, or add-on accessories, and “By Perimeter” for Eyelet and Length of pole/frame.
-
- Enter the finishing cost detail
– Selection Name: The name of the specification customers will see (e.g., “Not Required,” “Matte Lamination”).
– Base Price: One-time setup/startup cost before per-sqft or per-piece cost applies
– Per SQFT: Cost per sqft for this finishing (used when “By SQFT” is selected)
– Per Absolute: Cost per individual piece (used when “By Absolute” is selected)
– Per Perimeter [?]: Cost per Eyelet or Length of Pole/Frame (used when “By Perimeter” is selected)
-
Add new line if you have other finishing specifications available for your customers to choose from
- (optional) Set a Bulk Discount. If no need, just keep it in “Please Select”
💡 Example: When lamination cost per sqft is high for smaller jobs, apply a bulk discount for larger print areas to reduce the per-unit cost. -
Click “Save as Active” to finalize your additional finishing setup.

💡 Tips for Best Practice
-
“By SQFT” → For lamination, coating, or varnish finishing.
-
“By Absolute” → For cutting, trimming, or adding mounting parts.
-
“By Perimeter” → For eyelets, poles, or border framing.
-
Use Wastage wisely → Helps cover material loss during large-format printing.
-
Apply bulk discounts to keep large-area jobs competitively priced.
-
Name clearly — include process type (e.g., “Lamination – Matte SQFT”).
