🧱 Create a Bulk Discount Formula
Step-by-Step
- Give your formula a clear and descriptive name. Based on product i.e. “Digital Print – Business Card”, “Row Material”
-
Add notes to help you identify what this formula is used for.💡Example,“For digital print business card, discount starts from 500pcs”, “Used for large format products (banners, foamboard, posters)”, “Applies to SC-Area roll material by square feet.”
-
(Optional) Click “Clone” to copy another bulk discount formula into this new setup.
This saves time — no need to re-enter all levels line by line. - Select the discount type
– Quantity: Discounts are set based on print quantity
Applicable for product quantity, material component, printing cost component and additional component.
– SQFT: Discounts based on total print area in square feet
Applicable for material, printing cost and additional component of SC-Area only.
– Length: Discounts based on total finishing length for “By Perimeter” additional component of SC-Area only -
Set number and Profit Margin Levels
Each level specifies the maximum quantity (or sqft/length) and the discount percentage.Quantity Discount Perectage Description 5 and below 0% For small orders 10 and below 3% For mid-quantity orders Above 11 8% For high-quantity orders 🧮 Example Calculation
If 1pc price is $5, your total print quantity is 7pcs, and according to your margin formula Level 2: Quantity ≤ 10pcs → Bulk Discount = 3%
Final selling price = ($5 x 7pcs) – 3% = $33.95
Note [a]: When you enter the last two quantity levels, the final level will automatically become “Quantity and above”.
This means that any cost beyond your last defined level will use the same discount percentage automatically. - If you have more discount tiers, click “Add New Line” to add additional levels. You can define as many quantity discount combinations as needed
- Click “Save as Active”, your Bulk Discount Formula is now active and ready to be applied across your print products.

💡 Best Practice Tips
-
Plan your tiers smartly. Add enough levels to reflect meaningful quantity or area thresholds (e.g. 1–5, 6–10, 11–20, etc.).
-
Align with your cost structure. Use bulk discounts to gradually reduce cost for large orders instead of big jumps.
-
Use SQFT and Length for SC-Area products. For roll materials like banners or stickers, discounts should follow the print area or perimeter length instead of quantity.
-
Test your formula. Try a few order sizes to confirm pricing behaves as expected.
-
Combine with margin formula. Bulk discounts apply after your profit margin, giving you both profit flexibility and attractive pricing tiers.
